KWARA L-PRES HOLDS JULY 2026 TECHNICAL MEETING, REITERATES COMMITMENT TO TIMELY PROJECT DELIVERY


The Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project [L-PRES] has held its July 2026 State Technical Committee [STC] Meeting with a renewed pledge to support the project in achieving its Project Development Objective [PDO] in the state.
The STC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Yahaya, who is also the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Livestock Development, stated this yesterday in Ilorin during the meeting with other committee members.
Alhaji Mohammed explained that the committee serves as the core body responsible for technical oversight, policy direction, and strategic guidance at the state level, and will continue to provide the technical support needed to enhance the speedy implementation of project activities in the state.

He charged all members to sustain their commitment and provide the necessary support for the success of the project.
In his presentation, the State Project Coordinator, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye, highlighted some of the milestone achievements recorded by the project in the state so far.
The STC is saddled with the responsibility of providing technical guidance to the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) regarding livestock health, animal husbandry, value-chain commercialization, and climate-smart agricultural practices, among others.

The Project Coordinator of the Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye, has urged livestock farmers and value-chain actors to embrace digital communication tools to improve productivity, access timely information and expand market opportunities. Oyawoye made the call while delivering his opening remarks at a training programme on “Digital Communication Tools for Enhanced Livestock Production and Market Access,” held at the E-Phoenix Hotel, Ilorin. The training was organised by the Kwara L-PRES Project in collaboration with Four Icons Premium Limited. Addressing participants, Mr. Oyawoye said technology is rapidly changing the way people produce, and conduct business, stressing that the livestock sector must take advantage of opportunities created by digital innovation.
