Kwara L-PRES Pays Courtesy Visit To Emir of Ilorin ... As Project Coordinator seeks stronger support from traditional authorities

The Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has continued its drive in actualising the Project Development Objective (PDO) with a visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari at the Emir's Palace today.
Addressing the delegation from the Kwara L-PRES Project, the Emir pledged his support to all projects that were geared towards community development, economic empowerment, and food security of the State.
Dr. Zulu-Gambari who is also the Kwara State Chairman of the Traditional Council prayed for the project coordinator and his entourage, and also assured the team of the traditional institution's backing in the implementation of their activities in the State.

The State Project Coordinator, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye had earlier disclosed that the purpose of the visit is to intimate the monarch on the L-PRES' activities and to further receive the royal blessings for the success of the project in the State.
Mr. Oyawoye,  while highlighting the project objective and its impact on the economy of the State, he explained that L-PRES is to improve productivity in the livestock sector, increase commercialisation and resilience of farmers to climate change and environmental degradation and reduce farmer/herder conflict in the livestock production system.
Enumerating the achievement of the project, the project coordinator disclosed that the project has been able to reduce the movement of cattle from one place to another through the provision of  borehole water and feed to some strategic pastoral settlement across the state adding that pastoralists and livestock farmers have been trained on how to plant pasture and production of animal feeds with crop residue for ruminants utilisation.
Mr. Oyawoye praised the Emir for the peace and tranquility in the emirate and the state at large and further sought  continued support for the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The Project Coordinator of the Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye, has urged livestock farmers and value-chain actors to embrace digital communication tools to improve productivity, access timely information and expand market opportunities. Oyawoye made the call while delivering his opening remarks at a training programme on “Digital Communication Tools for Enhanced Livestock Production and Market Access,” held at the E-Phoenix Hotel, Ilorin. The training was organised by the Kwara L-PRES Project in collaboration with Four Icons Premium Limited.
