The Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) today inaugurated a 7-Member Grievance Redress Committee (GRC) saddle with the responsibilities to receive, investigate, and analyse grievances and complaints from concerned groups or individuals that are related to the implementation of L-PRES Project in the State.
The inauguration is part of the State project coordination's move to ensure that concerns of project beneficiaries and stakeholders are taken care of and their complaints and suggestions are duly addressed at the management level.

While inaugurating the Committee, the State Project Coordinator, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye said the terms of reference (ToR) of the assignment includes operationalise and maintain grievances redress process, abiding by the rules and procedures set out in GRM manual and in relevant National law.
According to the Coordinator, the committee has the mandate to investigate and analyse grievances complaints scenarios based on available facts and information to ensure fairness and confidentiality; finding alternative and best solutions for the issues to make acceptable decisions.

Mr. Oyawoye also informed the committee that it is part of their responsibility to instruct departments or authorised individuals responsible for implementing the decisions and monitor the implementation of given instructions and ensure proper records of the complaints in a designated logbook.

He further admonished all the committee members to be dedicated and committed to the new responsibilities and refrain from any acts that can tarnish their image and the project at large.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the Project Social Safeguard Officer, Mrs. Folake Iseyemi who is the chairperson of the committee commended the coordinator for the trust he had in all the members, and assured him that the committee will discharge their duties without fair or favour.

Isaac Yanda Usman; Value Chain and Market Linkage Officer, Mr. Oluwaseyi Dara; Gender Based violent Officer, Mrs. Kuburat Omoniyi and Project Communication and ICT Officer, Mr. Yusuf Ganiyu Adebisi as the committee secretary.

The Project Coordinator of the Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye, has urged livestock farmers and value-chain actors to embrace digital communication tools to improve productivity, access timely information and expand market opportunities. Oyawoye made the call while delivering his opening remarks at a training programme on “Digital Communication Tools for Enhanced Livestock Production and Market Access,” held at the E-Phoenix Hotel, Ilorin. The training was organised by the Kwara L-PRES Project in collaboration with Four Icons Premium Limited.
